Pink at First Sight

Just noticed this was up. Pink at First Sight was a Pink Panther TV special directed by Bob Richardson. It was a Valentines' Day special although it was originally broadcast three months later on May 1981 on ABC. This was produced after DePatie-Freleng split up, when much of the studio's crew was transferred to Marvel Production with David DePatie as producer.

If you can't view the video you can see it on YouTube here.

Personally, later PP shows following his theatrical career haven't felt the same without the snappy direction of Hawley Pratt, the musical ear of Doug Goodwinn (kudos to Walter Greene) or the imagination of John Dunn. In short, the last good PP special was the Olym-Pinks, which aired a year before I think.

Jesus, Charlie Brubaker!

I remember of this Pink Panther special!
It was broadcasted here in Brazil by Boomerang circa 2005, quite before the modifications happened on this channel's line-up in April 2006.

I remember this from home video back in the 80's. I think the only moment I kinda liked was when he escapes from the husband who comes home angry after a golf game while he was delivering Valentines.
